Answer: "Where in Milpitas?" Photo Challenge

You can find this orb in Pinewood Park.

Congratulations to Ruben Quiocho, this week's winner in the "Where in Milpitas?" photo challenge!

The round object is one of five balls that make up the base of the “Green Tree” public art display in Pinewood Park on Starlite Drive, near Pearl Zanker Elementary School at 1585 Fallen Leaf Drive, Milpitas. It’s in The Pines neighborhood.

Created by artist Bill Gould, the metal sculpture measures 20-feet high and about 12 feet in diameter. It is made entirely from recycled materials including old compact discs, glass, metals and other items that likely would have ended up in a landfill.

It was installed in March 2010 as part of an "Art in Your Park" gift program made possible by the City of Milpitas Public Art Committee and Milpitas Alliance for The Arts.

Ruben, please e-mail genevieve.bookwalter@patch.com to claim your prize!

Thanks to all who played and check back next week for another challenge.
