Community Breakfast this Saturday

All local residents and business owners are invited.

All Milpitas residents and business owners are invited to the first Milpitas Community Breakfast of 2012 this Saturday, Jan. 7, 8-9:30 a.m. in Jones Hall at the Sunnyhills United Methodist Church (SUMC) at 355 Dixon Road.

This event typically takes place the first Saturday of every month, excluding July and August, and is a 50-year-old tradition in Milpitas. The breakfast is sponsored by the Sunnyhills Neighborhood Association (SNA) and the church, and this month, will be hosted by the Milpitas Executive Lions Club (MELC).

At this breakfast, members of MELC and SNA will be discussing how groups such as theirs can work together for the benefit of Milpitas.

MELC, a community-minded group, has served the community for the past nine years through activities such as Arbor Day, planting trees year-round in Milpitas Parks,  school emergency preparedness drills, the Eyeglasses Program with the Milpitas Unified School District, Neighborhood Night Out, Make A Difference Day, diabetes testing and prevention seminars, and many more.

The breakfast is free, though a donation is requested. For more information, visit www.milpitaslions.com or call 408-263-8942.
