Parolee and Companion Arrested, Guns and Drugs Seized

Milpitas Police have arrested two men and seized a stash of firearms, ammunition, illegal weapons and drugs.

Two men were arrested in Milpitas this week, and police officers seized firearms, other illegal weapons and drugs in their possession.

On Tuesday, Jan. 17 at approximately 11:06 a.m., Milpitas Police officers performed a traffic stop on the 900 block of Jacklin Road. The vehicle they stopped contained 53-year-old Johnny Munoz of Milpitas - a former convicted felon out on parole - and 21-year-old Ramon Garcia, a transient.

Munoz was found to be in possession of brass knuckles. He was arrested for being a felon in possession of an illegal weapon. Garcia was found in possession of several baggies of methamphetamine. He was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance for sale.

The officers then conducted a parole search at Munoz’s home, where they found and seized three handguns, a rifle, numerous rounds of ammunition and a container of concentrated cannabis.

California law prohibits parolees and anyone convicted of a felony from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Munoz was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for possession of firearms, possession of ammunition, possession of metal knuckles, and possession of concentrated cannabis. Garcia was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sale.
