Diana Mihalakis: Sculpture Exhibit/Poetry Performance on Loss, Grief and Trauma

Artist/poet Diana Mihalakis will open her solo sculpture exhibition, ‘If Only,’ on Friday, June 3 from 7:00pm-9:00pm at ART ARK Gallery in San Jose. Inspired by the poetry she wrote while grieving the loss of her 18-year-old, Specialist Michael Mihalakis, a former Milpitas High student who died in Iraq, Mihalakis uses images she finds in nature to convey the difficult landscape of loss, grief and trauma. The artist will perform her poetry in the gallery at 7:30 pm.

Gallery Hours: 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm June 5, 7, 11 and 15 with poetry performances at 1:00 pm each day. Additional hours June 16, 6:30 pm-8:30 pm with poetry at 7:00 pm. Closing Reception Saturday, June 18 from 12:00pm – 2pm.
