HUMANE SOCIETY SILICON VALLEY AND THE SHELTERS FIRST PARTNERS LAUNCH ANNUAL HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS PROGRAM

It's that time of year again as Humane Society Silicon Valley teams up with Shelters First to launch the Annual Home for the Holidays Program.

- As our Holiday Gift to Silicon Valley, the six Shelters First partners are presenting our December Adoption Special: $12 ADOPTION FEES. All adult animals are only $12. Visit SheltersFirst.org to see the six Silicon Valley animal shelters participating.

- Shelters First
is an awareness campaign that targets the 67% of Santa Clara county households that love pets – encouraging everyone to find their next pet at a shelter. (That’s over 400,000 families!) Currently, only 25% of pet owners adopt from shelters.

- 1,200+ pets need a “Home for the Holidays”

- “Our shelters are beautiful, but they’re not homes,” said Beth Ward, VP of Shelter Operations at Humane Society Silicon Valley. “Our volunteers and staff are warm and wonderful, but they’re not the same as a permanent, loving family. We hope families will consider opening their homes and hearts this holiday season.”

The Shelters First partners are working together in constant communication to create short-term solutions including:

- transferring animals between shelters

- moving animals into foster care homes

- healing and training animals to become more adoptable

But these are just band-aids. The real solution is clear. Hundreds of homeless animals in Silicon Valley need to be adopted NOW.

Visit SheltersFirst.org for more information.
