Milpitas Rotary Participating At Milpitas Chamber International BBQ & Festival


Visitors can help the Rotary Club of Milpitas continue their good works by purchasing cold sodas and water from any of their three booths at the Milpitas Chamber's International BBQ & Festival being held from 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday, May 31, 2014 and 10 am to 6 pm Sunday June 1, 2014 along South Milpitas Blvd. between Los Coches and Turquoise St.

This event has fun & games, arts & crafts, inflatables, kids fun area, BBQ contest, food court, delicious beverages, live music, business row, political row, Milpitas' 60th Anniversary celebration Saturday at 5 - 8 pm with classic cars, plus 50's music and fashions.

Milpitas Rotary is involved with Rotary International Foundation's Polio Plus Program to help eradicate that disease from the planet. Rotary College Scholarships are awarded annually to Milpitas High School students. Every year Milpitas Rotary funds a week for students at Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) at Mission Springs in August. This year several youths were sent to the Entrepreneurial Leadership Conference (ELC) in March held at Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove. Milpitas Rotarians raised over $20,000 to send a 40 foot shipping container of badly needed medical supplies worth $150,000 to $300,000 to a hospital in Chinandega, Nicaragua last year.
