$200,000 Winning Lottery Ticket Sold in Milpitas Still Unclaimed

A winning lottery ticket purchased at the Milpitas Lucky's supermarket is worth close to $200,000. The winner has not come forward yet.

Milpitas seems to be a lucky place for lottery winners lately.

Less than one month after , a Mega Millions ticket worth nearly $200,000 was sold at the on S. Park Victoria Drive.

Now, the store is just waiting for the lucky lottery winner to come forward.

In the Jan. 6 "Mega Millions" California lottery, someone who purchased their ticket at the Milpitas Luckys chose five magic numbers - because those numbers were called during that night's big drawing.

The winning ticket means an extra $197,753 for the winner's bank account.

"The ticket matched the numbers 34, 28, 9, 48 and 17, missing only the Mega number of 46," said a press release issued by the California Lottery on Jan. 7.

According to lottery rules, winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. That leaves 176 to go for the unidentified Milpitas winner.

The California Lottery reminds winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep tickets in a safe place, and contact Lottery officials or visit their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible.
