ShreeMaya KrishnaDham Celebrates Homestyle Diwali

ShreeMaya KrishnaDham Community center and Temple celebrates Diwali, the festival of lights from Nov. 2 - Nov.6. The festival is free.

Highlights of the five-day event are as follows: 

Nov. 5

Find out what's happening in Milpitaswith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • 6 p.m.- 8 p.m., Lakshmi (goddess of wealth) Puja for business owners performed once a year. 
  • Swarswati (goddess of education) Puja for kids.
  • Nov. 6 between 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., Nutan Varsh (Gujurati New year celebration).

Nov. 6

  • 1:30 p.m., Annakut Darshan, a mountain of countless varieties of food and sweet items offered to god; Annakut darshan moves the community to visit the temple every year for Diwali. 
  • Govardhan Pooja, worship of the cow is done with a real cow only at this temple in Bay Area.
