Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Picnic

When/Where: Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., , 3100 Calaveras Rd Milpitas.

What: Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area is hosting its annual picnic at . The party is for the at-risk children in the program, so they can enjoy it with their mentors. It’s also an opportunity to raise awareness about the need for volunteers, as the program currently has a waitlist of over 200 children in the program.

Bastille Day Celebration by the Lake

When/Where: Saturday 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. , 3160 N Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View

What: Saturday is Bastille Day and is celebrating in style! Enjoy delicious French pastries, Model Yacht Club races, and a new sailing fleet launch, among a host of other activities.

Cost: Free

When/Where: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., , 901 Ames Ave

What: Pet and play with dogs of all sizes and breeds in person. Get "insider’s information" from foster parents who are currently taking care of them in their homes.

When/Where: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., , 525 Los Coches St, Milpitas

What: The Milpitas Farmers' Market features incredible fruits, vegetables and prepared foods every Sunday! The partnership and support of the India Community Center allows the farmers' market to operate and serve the Milpitas community.

Cost: Free

Where/When: Jackson Street between Sixth and Seventh Street, Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What: Find a selection of fresh, and unique, produce such as sweet potatoes, kale and brussel sprouts on a stem.
