Give Up Liquor for Lent? Welcome It Back.

A selection of colorful drinks to get your Easter hoppin'.

Easter is coming up this Sunday and we all know what that means—eggs will be colored, Easter baskets discovered and chocolate eggs devoured. This particular holiday may be popular with the kids for the obvious reasons, but don't forget that adults enjoy celebrating as well.

Here are some Easter cocktails for the party planners out there:

THE BLUE COTTON TAIL

Ingredients: 1.5 ounces of your favorite Vodka, .5 ounces Triple Sec and .25 ounces Blue Curacao.

Preparation: Add the ingredients into a shaker and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with an orange peel.

THE PINK BONNET/PRETTY IN PINK

 Ingredients: 1.5 ounces of your favorite Gin, .5 ounces of simple syrup, .75 ounces of lemon juice, 2 dashes of crème de framboise or grenadine (for color), and one egg white.

Preparation: Add all of the ingredients into a shaker and shake until the egg white is emulsified. Then shake the ingredients a second time with ice and strain into a small cocktail glass. Garnish with muddled mint leaves.

THE BLACK VELVET

Ingredients: Champagne, Guinness Stout.

Preparation: Fill a glass halfway with your Champagne of choice and then slowly pour the Guinness over the Champagne with a spoon to create a layered effect.

THE SHANDY

Ingredients: North Coast Blue Star Wheat Beer, lemonade, ginger ale or ginger beer.

Preparation: Fill a pint glass halfway with North Coast Blue Star Wheat Beer, then add the lemonade and ginger beverage.  

THE SNAKE BITE

Ingredients: Cable Car Lager and Strongbow Hard Cider.

Preparation: Mix equal parts of both drinks in a pint glass and serve.
