Milpitas Rotary Learns About Gun Safety

On Monday, John Buchanok addressed "Shooting Made Fun", covering the legal and logistical know-how of gun use.

Milpitas Rotary Club's Monday, October 1, featured speaker, John Buchanok, told an attentive audience about the ins and outs of gun safety.

His program "Shooting Made Fun" offers firearm instruction for all skill levels, including: NRA Basic Pistol, Handgun Safety Certificate, Disaster Preparedness, Defense Inside the Home, Defense Outside the Home, Active Shooter, and more. Classes are held locally at Target Masters. Website: www.shootingmadefun.com.

Buchanok answered questions about concealed carry laws, legally transferring ownership of firearms, and other firearms rules and regulations.

"A citizen can rent a 9mm pistol for $10 to use for target practice with about $20 worth of ammunition," he said.

As an active police officer, he added, he shoots at the range on a weekly basis to stay in shape.

Milpitas Rotary meets weekly at noon on Mondays in Brandon's Restaurant in the Beverly Heritage Hotel.

Excellent idea. Too often, the only exposure people get to firearms is from Hollywood.
Responsible and educated gun ownership is a goal we should all strive for.
