A project to add BART stations in the South Bay is moving forward in Milpitas.

Construction on the future Milpitas BART Station off the Montague Expressway started in August with the demolition of existing buildings followed by utility relocations in this area.

The Milpitas BART Station will feature a ground-level concourse, below-ground boarding platforms and a seamless connection to VTA’s Montague light-sail station. The Milpitas station is projected to initially average 10,000 riders daily, with BART trains expected to arrive every 7.5 minutes, VTA officials said.

Word is, it will take 60 minutes to ride from Milpitas to San Francisco.
