Know someone who volunteers in their free time to make their community or the world a better place? Do you know someone in Milpitas who goes above and beyond the call of duty? Someone who sees a problem and works to fix it? Someone who's impacted the lives of others?
In 2011, three of the 12 recipients were Californians. Their contributions ranged from helping veterans with mental illness, and who are homeless and disabled. Another created a music program for under-served children.
