Tickets On Sale For Charitable Crab Feast

The Ninth Annual Silent Auction and Crabfeed will benefit all Milpitas Unified School District students.

For three more weeks, tickets are on sale for an evening of charitable crab eating.

The Milpitas Kiwanis and Milpitas High School Music Boosters are hosting the Ninth Annual Silent Auction and Crab Feed on Friday, January 11, with all proceeds going to Milpitas Union School District students.

Tickets are $45 per person until Dec. 7, said organizer Dennis Grilli. Dinner includes all-you-can-eat crab and salad, with wine, beer and soda available for purchase. Tables for 10 can be reserved for $500, and include dinner for 10 plus two bottles of wine.

Milpitas Kiwanis hosts annual shopping events at Kohl’s for uniforms and other clothing for elementary school students. They also provide scholarships to assist graduating seniors with their college expenses.

“These programs provide benefits to students whose families cannot afford them and are intended to encourage and enable these students to stay in school,” wrote Grilli in an email.

The Milpitas High School Boosters will fund music programs and instruments for all students in the district.

The event will be held at the Milpitas Community Center Milpitas Community Center from 5 to 10 p.m. There are only 300 tickets available, said Grilli. Buy them online at www.crabfeed.mhsmusioc.org.

For those who can’t get enough crab, the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce is also currently selling tickets for its 20th Annual Auction and Crabfeed on March 1, 2013. Early bird tickets are on sale until January 15.
