Weekend Planner: City Hall Veterans Day Ceremony and More

An overview of events in Milpitas this weekend.

Milpitas Veterans Day Ceremony
When/Where: Sunday, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Milpitas City Hall
What: Honor Milpitas Veterans who have served our country. This year’s ceremony features music by the Milpitas Community Concert Band and the “Veterans Remembrance Choir”. The Milpitas Veterans Commission will also present the first-ever “Milpitas Veteran of the Year” award. Light refreshments will be served.
Cost: Free

The Little Mermaid, Jr. Production
When/Where: Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
What: Center Stage Performing Arts, formerly known as the Milpitas Rainbow Theater, launches its newest colorful production this weekend.
Cost: $10 until Thursday at 8 p.m. if purchased at the Milpitas Community Center, $12 at the door

Halloween Costume Exchange
When/Where: Sunday, Christ Community Church, 1000 S Park Victoria Dr, Milpitas
What: Don’t want any (literal) skeletons in your closet? Donate your leftover Oct. 31 costume to Christ Community Church in Milpitas during any Sunday in November. They will be given out for free next year.
Cost: Free

Dog Adoption Showcase
When/Where: Saturday, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Humane Society Silicon Valley, 901 Ames Ave
What: Pet and play with dogs of all sizes and breeds in person. Get "insider’s information" from foster parents who are currently taking care of them in their homes.
Cost: Free to browse

Milpitas Farmers’ Market
When/Where: Sunday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., India Community Center, 525 Los Coches St, Milpitas
What: The Milpitas Farmers' Market features incredible fruits, vegetables and prepared foods every Sunday! The partnership and support of the India Community Center allows the farmers' market to operate and serve the Milpitas community.
Cost: Free
