World Premiere of documentary EL REY in San Jose

Adi and Stefan, two Austrian band mates and friends, buy an old school bus in New York and drive through Central America.

Throughout 11 months off the beaten track, in the US, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, they use music to break down barriers and form connections with people in the most unlikely places.

In the film the local musicians that were encountered on the journey are featured; with the focus being on their message. Even though at times these messages are heartbreakingly honest, most of the characters live their lives, and interact with Adi and Stefan, with joy, humor and a sense of fun.

EL REY is a documentary about the journey of a life time for Adi and Stefan. We are immersed in the local flavor and musical culture in this modern and fresh perspective of a road movie.

The world premiere for the emotive road trip documentary, EL REY, will be held at TWIFF Indie Film Festival, Century 20 Theatres, Milpitas. 5pm Sept 23rd 2012.
