This modern-looking structure greets visitors entering Milpitas.

Congratulations to Patch reader Tess, this week’s winner in the “Where in Milpitas?” photo challenge!

This mystery structure is a public art project called Gateway to Milpitas. It is located on the northeast corner of Tasman and Alder drives, next to the Valley Transportation Authority park-and-ride lot. It is also near the VTA light-rail Milpitas/I-880 station.

It includes a clock tower and was dedicated by the city in June 2002.
