Photo Challenge: Where in Milpitas?

Test your knowledge of Milpitas by guessing what and where this structure is.

Looking skyward this structure looks like it could be part of an Old West fortress. Its protruding beams and solid corner supports and walls would likely keep even the most determined invaders at bay.

But fortresses are best left to historians. You won’t find them in Milpitas.

Instead, this structure is a large decorative element in an urban center of Milpitas near one of the busiest intersections in the city. Hint: it’s not only decorative; it also provides a service.

Do you know what this structure is and where it is located? Bonus kudos if you can tell us what service it provides. Post your guess in the comments area below.

If you’re the first person with the complete correct answer, you may win a $10 gift card to a local business. And, more importantly, you can claim bragging rights that you’re this week’s expert in Milpitas trivia.

Game on!

Congratulations to Where in Milpitas? Mystery Photo challenge winner . He was the first to correctly guess that the curved pedestrian bridge is on the south side of Los Coches Street near South Hillview Drive.

Don't miss a thing in Milpitas!

It looks like the clock "tower" in the parking lot of the Beresford Square shopping center on the corner of Milpitas Blvd and Calaveras, where CVS is.

Looks like one of the store signs at McCarthy Ranch shopping center at 880 and 237. It informs people what stores are open.

I think it's the entryway to Fire Station No. 2 on Yosemite Drive.
