Just four days before squaring off against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Larry Grant is making time for local kids just two miles west of Milpitas.
At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Grant will join Slick Willie Shaw at the Aviso Youth Center Club House at 5040 N. 1st St. in San Jose to entertain local kids.
"Slick will teach Larry and a few lucky kids how to spin a basketball and, perhaps, even how to spin a football," Globetrotters Spokesman Eric Nemeth said.
The Globetrotters are also donating 49 tickets in Grant's name to the Boys and Girls Club of Silicon Valley to attend the upcoming Globetrotters games this weekend at Oracle Arena in Oakland and HP Pavilion in San Jose.
Grant, 27, is from Santa Rosa, California. He had six tackles this season. His best year as a pro was in 2011, when he had 30 tackles and two sacks. He played three years for the St. Louis Rams before joining the 49ers last year.
