Palo Alto Medical Foundation to Build New Outpatient Surgery Center in Fremont

The 20,400-square-foot building will be located at 3200 Kearny St., where two PAMF medical centers are already located.

The Palo Alto Medical Foundation is expanding its services in the East Bay with a new outpatient surgical center.

According to the Foundation, city leaders approved PAMF to build a 20,400-square-foot medical building, along with a 216-space parking structure, at PAMF’s Fremont Center at 3200 Kearny St.

The new surgery center, which will serve residents throughout Alameda County, is classified as an “ambulatory” center, meaning patients will be able to have same-day procedures performed there. The center will feature four operating rooms and two endoscopy suites, along with 18 pre-op and post-op units. PAMF will also build a new traffic circle for patient drop-offs.

“Once this new surgery center is open, our physicians will be able to perform outpatient surgical cases on our Fremont campus, which is both more convenient for our patients and more efficient for our providers,” said PAMF’s Alameda Regional President Jimmy Hu in a statement.

A groundbreaking for the center is expected later this year. It will take up to 16 months to complete construction, according to the Foundation.
