Sprint Store Relocates Next to New Badminton Retailer

Two new tenants boost Milpitas Center, Prestige Realty becomes Intero, and Marleigh's Flowers looks for new home.

Milpitas Center owner, Bill Cilker, said with the addition of two new leases, Wireless Lifestyle Sprint and Synergy, his 14-space center is now full and leased out. That's good news for Cilker, whose leases average five years or more.

Other Milpitas Center merchants on Abbott Avenue and Calaveras Boulevard include , , Highway Bento,  (formerly Kragen), , , , , Abbott Dental Center, , , and Namaste Plaza Groceries and Fresh Produce.

Wireless Lifestyle Sprint at 32 South Abbott Ave. has moved from McCarthy Ranch. The ribbon-cutting was held Jan. 14 with the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce, Milpitas Mayor Jose Esteves and Jamie Burks, Sprint Events and Promotions coordinator. Sprint now offers the only 4G network in the area. But store manager Jessica Quiambao said it's more than just that. "We offer the first-ever 4G network, with new Android and Samsung Epic smartphones, with the best value wireless," she said. "We train our customers well on their phones."

Synergy at 28 S. Abbott Ave. features tennis and badminton gear. Owners Alan Kakinami and Lan Le plan to open in about a week to 10 days. "Synergy offers the highest-quality tennis and badminton racquets, racquet restringing, shoes, tennis balls, shuttlecocks and racquet bags," said Kakinami. Business is sure to get a boost when Bintang Badminton Academy opens with 23 new courts on South Milpitas Boulevard. The city already has the on Montague Expressway.

Wok Star Express Asian Kitchen at 1787 Landess Ave., held its grand opening Jan. 11, according to owner Debbie Chen and manager Jenny Lim. The restaurant offers entrees, sides, kids portions, eat in, take-out and catering for parties of 15 or more. Debbie says, "We serve vegetarian egg rolls, mongolian beef, fried fish fillet, salt and pepper chicken, fried rice, vegetarian noodle soup, sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken, orange chicken, broccoli beef, eggplant with garlic sauce and much more."

 on the second floor of the Serra Center was once known as Prestige Realty, which shared an office with Nha Investments. This month, with a remodeled office, the Intero signs are now up. This will be part of the same Intero franchise that will be part of Vietnam Town on Story Road in San Jose, according to Nha Investments cofounders and owners Steven Tran and Dylan Nguyen. Nguyen said, "Intero meets all the needs we are looking for in regards to leadership, management, systems, support and, most importantly, vision." New director Hector Molina said, "They successfully acquired 54 homes in a span of 10 months in 2010. Our firm offers full service to our clients, and we hope to build from 15 to 30 agents." Mia Le, the fourth member of the team, joins Intero/Nha as operations manager.

 is relocating and has recently moved out of Victorian Square at Calaveras Boulevard and North Park Victoria Drive. Owner Maria Osorio said, "We are working on a new location nearby, perhaps across the street. We hope to reopen very soon." Marleigh's Floral Design offers arrangements for weddings, anniversaries, funerals and birthdays, plus fine gift items, gourmet baskets. and plants.
