Tech: Microsoft Leaving Hotmail Brand Behind

On Tuesday, the company rolled out Outlook.com as its new email service.

So long Hotmail, hello Outlook.com.

After 15 years under ownership, the world's largest email service will be revamped into Outlook.com, GeekWire reports. The change, according to the local tech industry blog, is intended to streamline Microsoft's branding and combat Google's rising share of the email market.

GeekWire reports Hotmail users will be able to keep their @hotmail.com address if they so choose. (Click here to read the entire GeekWire post, and check out the attached YouTube video for a run-down of Outlook.com from Microsoft).

Will you miss the email domain, or has it long been time for Microsoft to move on? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Great! How do kids get involved? Is there a phone number or email address to contact?
