Milpitas-based LifeScan Inc. hopes its newest blood sugar testing system, the OneTouch Verio IQ System with Pattern Alert Technology, will revolutionize the way diabetes patients across the country help care for themselves and monitor their condition. The new system, introduced earlier this week, “helps make it fast and easy to zero in on patterns of highs and lows so patients can take action to prevent them in the future,” the company said in a statement on Monday. The new system is the first and only meter to display patterns of highs and lows right on screen with messages such as, "Looks like your blood sugar has been running LOW around this time."

Milpitas-based Soladigm has announced the appointment of a new chief commercial officer (CCO), as the company prepares to “scale up operations.” Jim Pape brings more than two decades of sales, marketing, customer service and product development experience and was most recently the president of SunPower Corporation's global residential and commercial business units. As CCO of Soladigm, Pape will be responsible for managing and expanding global commercial activities.

In other Soladigm news, the company has also recently landed a government contract under the Department of Defense’s Environmental Security Technology Certification Program, which aims to identify technologies that have the highest potential for widespread deployment.

Milpitas-based Dialogic Inc. announced this week that its Dialogic PowerMedia HMP 5.0 and its I-Gate 4000 Session Bandwidth Optimizer Mobile Backhaul were both recently named recipients of the 2011 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year award. The PowerMedia HMP 5.0 has the ability to scale up to 5,000 simultaneous SIP connections or 1,500 voice sessions. It provides for HD voice and video play/record, conferencing, multimedia streaming, transcoding, automated interactive audio and video solutions and high-end live interaction applications, such as contact centers and video portals. It also supports virtualization and runs on general-purpose servers without the need for specialized hardware, thereby reducing the total cost of ownership. The I-Gate 4000 SBO-MB allows service providers to leverage existing network infrastructure, positioning them to quickly and cost-effectively double the bandwidth in the typical Radio Access Network (RAN). This enables the product to help providers improve their customer experience and, in turn, their ability to increase their subscriber base.
