Milpitas-based Sonics Inc. announced this week that Microchip Technology has licensed a number of its on-chip networks for its award-winning 32-bit microcontroller family. Sonics’ solutions will be used in the PIC32 product family for applications such as automotive, consumer electronics, home appliances, wireless connectivity and more. This announcement comes on the heels of Sonics’ announcement this week that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Arteris for infringing on as many as seven of Sonics’ patents.
