This week we visited in the Beresford Shopping Center. We spoke with Alexander Quiambao, a loyal customer, who told us why he loves buying his comics there.
PATCH: So, do you shop here a lot?
QUIAMBAO: My buddy got me into comics. So I started coming here, and now I'm a subscriber.
Editor's Note: A "subscriber" is someone with an account at the store. They tell the owner which comics they like, and whenever new ones come in, they are automatically set aside for the subscriber in case they sell out.
PATCH: What are some of your favorite comics?
QUIAMBAO: Right now I'm really into Red Hood and Winter Soldier - that's Bucky, the Captain America character, when he's older - and I also like Batman, Night Wing, and Wolverine.
I'm really excited about the new Avengers movie! My buddy and I got tickets to the Avengers marathon the day before. It starts at 11 a.m. the day before the movie comes out, and you watch all the movies [about the individual characters] back-to-back until midnight when the Avengers movie comes out. Tickets were only $40, which was not bad.
PATCH: Where do you live?
QUIAMBAO: I live right on the San Jose/Milpitas border, off Ringwood.
PATCH: So why do you love shopping at Black Cat Comics?
QUIAMBAO: It's close to my house, and also the atmosphere in here is really awesome.
