Circus Vargas Returning to Milpitas

Four-day engagement will include a touch of Broadway extravagance.

 

It’s that time of year again: Circus Vargas will soon be pitching its tent in Milpitas and bringing with it a cavalcade of performers of every kind from dancers and acrobats to magicians and musicians, and even a clown – or two.

Orchestrating it all will be singing ringmaster Kevin Venardos who, as Master of Ceremonies, will bring a touch of Broadway extravagance to the event which is designed appeal to adults and children.

The circus and its Big Top tent need a lot of room, so they will be setting up in a large open parking area near the . 

The tent is also an attraction that will be hard to miss. It consists of 90,000 square feet of fabric and is supported by 500 individually placed stakes and over four miles of rope and cable weighing more than 17 tons. It’s large enough to accommodate 1,500 people comfortably in theater-style tent seats.

The circus opens Aug. 30 and continues through Sept. 3. Show times will be:

Thursday, Aug. 30
8 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 31
5 and 8 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 1
5 and 8 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 2
4 and 7 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 3
3 and 6 p.m.
