A 3.1 magnitude quake struck 4:51 a.m. on Monday.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.1 struck at 4:51 a.m. this morning.

The epicenter was roughly five miles east of Alum Rock and nine miles northeast of San Jose City Hall, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

San Jose residents, including one from Fremont and Mountain View, responded to Did You Feel It section of the USGS website.
