Milpitas Executives to Buy, Wrap Presents For Charity

KLA-Tencor executives and employees will partake in the Executive Elf Challenge.

Executives and employees from Milpitas' KLA-Tencor this month will compete with Silicon Valley executives in a gift shopping and wrapping contest for kids less fortunate.

The Executive Elf Challenge -- the goal is to get presents for 60,000 children -- is set for Dec. 14 at the Family Giving Tree warehouse.

The company already raised more than $105,000 during its campus-wide competition for Second Harvest Bank’s Canned Food Drive.

KLA-Tencor sponsored the 5K Walk/Run, raising funds for the Second Harvest Food Bank, the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County and the Children’s Health Initiative of Santa Clara County.

KLA-Tencor this year -- for the third year -- will work with One Warm Coat and the community to collect coats for those without this winter.

Last year, company employees donated 277 coats and they hope to pass that number this year, officials said.
