How Many Foreclosure Homes Are In Milpitas?

And, how much are they selling for?

The number of foreclosure homes in Milpitas is down 75 percent over last year, and they're selling for an average of $5,000 more than non-foreclosure houses.

That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 91 homes in some sort of foreclosure in Milpitas with 14 of those houses for sale.

The median sale price for foreclosure homes was $465,000 in April. That was 8 percent higher than April 2012.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $460,000, up 11 percent from a year before.

In May, the number of properties that have received a foreclosure filing in Milpitas was 36 percent higher than in April and down 75 percent from May 2012.

Overall, homes sales in Milpitas in April were up 27 percent from the previous month and up 11 percent from the year before.

The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 712,000 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,000 have been vacated by their owners.
