Milpitas Man Working to Honor Korean War Vets

Names of area veterans will be included in a certificate of appreciation to be signed by Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.

Milpitas resident Lou Horyza is hoping to track down veterans from the Korean War to be part of a program commemorating the 60th anniversary of the war.

Horyza is collecting the names of area veterans who served anywhere in the world between 1950 and January 1955 to submit to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta for his signature on a certificate of appreciation.

To participate, veterans are asked to send their full name, rank, branch of military service and mailing address to Horyza at 667 Escuela Place, Milpitas, Calif. 95035. He also can be reached online by sending an email to loupegh@aol.com or at 408-263-8779.
