PG&E Reps Address Milpitas Rotary Club

Discussion included explanation of new electric rate structures for businesses.

Highlights from the Sept. 10 Milpitas Rotary Club meeting:

Three Pacific Gas & Electric Customer Outreach Specialists were on hand to explain the new time-of-use electric rate structure for medium and small businesses.

PG&E Customer Outreach Specialists Liz Crawford, Sherry Bartolome, and Customer Outreach Manager Regina Saldana made their informative power point presentation to Milpitas Rotary Club members and guests.

They said higher rates are charged for peak and partial peak times during the afternoon and daytime hours and less at night and on weekends. These efforts help during hot days, when energy capacity is strained. Their Business Customer Service Center can be reached at 1-800-468-4743.

In other club news, President Mark Tiernan announced that the Milpitas Rotary Club was voted the Milpitas Post Readers' Choice for the Best Service Club and the Best Social Club of 2012.

Dan Youngs Sr., Club President in 1982-83, was honored by President Mark Tiernan and Past President Doris Roth for his 6th Paul Harris Fellowship Award from Rotary International.

John Jay announced his future retirement plans for his business and his Rotary activities.

New member Estrella Kawczynski of Kawczynski & Associates told her story and elaborated on how her company offers investments and college funding plans.
