Ohlone in the Marshes – Tule Boats at the Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge

How did the people who lived here 10,000 years ago travel from place to place in the waterworld that once was San Francisco Bay? By boat, of course. Join us on a short walk to view the raw materials used by the Ohlone in boat making and then, using natural materials, make small replicas of their boats to take home. Appropriate for children ages 8+ who are accompanied by an interested adult. Program led by Laura Mello and Aja Yee. REGISTRATION CLOSES April 24. Please call Aja at 408-262-5513 ext. 102 for reservations.
