Who Should Be Milpitas' Citizen of the Year?

Deadline for nominations is Friday.

Do you have a neighbor or friend who regularly gives back to the community? Is this person accomplished in his or her professional life, and still finds time to volunteer with a charity or religious organization? 

That person might become the 2012 Milpitas Citizen of the Year! 

The Knight of Columbus Council 5796 is looking for nominations of residents who gives unselfishly to the community outside of their professions. This year that person will be recognized on April 15 at the Knights of Columbus 38th Annual Awards Dinner.

The Milpitas police officer and firefighter of the year will be recognized the same evening.

Nominees will be judged on current and past histories of leadership and accomplishment. They does not need to live in Milpitas, but should be active in the community here.

To nominate a 2012 Milpitas Citizen of the Year fill out the attached form and e-mail it or drop it in the mail box by Friday. The address is on the form.

The awards dinner will be 6:30 p.m. April 14 at Pavalkis Hall, St. John's Parish, 279 S. Main St., Milpitas.
