Milpitas Fireworks Show Tickets go on Sale

Popular Independence Day celebration also includes a daytime pool party and evening music concert

Milpitas residents have first crack at buying tickets to the city’s popular “Red, White & Boom” Independence Day festivities starting Monday, June 4.

The festivities, planned for Wednesday, July 4, include an afternoon pool party, followed by an evening music concert and fireworks program at the Milpitas Sports Center.

 Advance tickets, available only to Milpitas residents, are $2 for the pool party, and $3 for the music and fireworks program. Ticket-buyers may be asked to show proof of residency. Tickets will be available to non-residents starting June 25.

The pool party will take place 1-to-4 p.m. and will include music, games and other family activities. A hot dog lunch will be available for purchase with proceeds benefitting Milpitas youth theater programs.

Gates open at 6 p.m. for the concert and fireworks program. Music will be provided by The Silicon Valley Houserockers  starting at 7 p.m. followed by the fireworks program at 9:15 p.m.  Those attending are welcome to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy during the programs.  No barbecues or tailgate parties will be allowed in the parking lot.

Space is limited to the first 10,000 people. No alcohol, glass bottles, or pets will be allowed at the event.  In addition, Milpitas officials emphasize that personal fireworks are not allowed at this event, or anywhere else in the city.

Advance tickets can be purchased at the Milpitas Sports Center, 1325 E. Calaveras Blvd. The center is open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Tickets also can be purchased at the Milpitas Community Center, 457 E.
