Small Earthquake Strikes Near Milpitas Sunday

A 2.5 magnitude earthquake hit the Warm Springs area in the east bay Sunday morning.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.5 struck in Alameda County Sunday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The quake struck at 9:47 a.m. and had a preliminary depth of 4.2 miles, according to the USGS.

The epicenter was about six miles northeast of Milpitas and eight miles southeast of Fremont.
