Update: Keith Hadnot, MHS Class of '95

Funeral is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at Fremont Memorial Chapel, and a trust fund is established for Hadnot's children.

The family of , a Union City resident who , has set up a trust fund for his children after he was .

Hadnot was the father of three young children: 3-year-old Keith Hadnot III and 1-year-old twins Tristian and Viviana.

The trust fund was established by his wife, Irlanda Ramos Hadnot, also a graduate of Milpitas High, for the three children they had together, though Hadnot also helped raise two step-children, Mario and Teddy, ages 10 and 12, she said.

After news of Hadnot’s death spread, family and friends began asking how they could help the family, Irlanda said.

Hadnot was killed on June 14 around 5 p.m. on the 4100 block of Venus Place near his home in the Contempo Homes community.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to witnesses, Hadnot appeared to be arguing with a group of teenage suspects. Hadnot was walking away and crossing Venus Place when one of the suspects drew a handgun and shot him in the back, witnesses said. A group of teenagers were seen leaving the area before police arrived.

No arrests have been made as of Monday, though police are investigating a number of leads, Lt. Ben Horner of the Union City Police Department said. He also said there is no hard evidence to support that the assailants were teenagers.

Hadnot’s death was the city’s third homicide of the year and the third within a period of 30 days.

“Happy Father’s Day my love,” Irlanda wrote in a Facebook post. “I know that you will always be protecting me and our children. You have always been a great father and our children love their daddy soo soo much!”

A viewing for Keith Hadnot II will be held at 9 a.m. on Sat., June 25 at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Boulevard in Fremont, followed immediately by a funeral and reception.
