2 Men Arrested After Police Recover 220 Pounds of Marijuana While Executing Search Warrant

Bao Cao, 24, and Thien Cao, 19, were both arrested on suspicion of multiple marijuana cultivation, sales and theft charges.

Authorities in Milpitas arrested two men Wednesday during searches at several residences as part of a marijuana cultivation investigation, police said.
 
The Milpitas SWAT team and detectives executed search warrants at residences on Anacapa and Jasmine courts and Pedro Avenue Wednesday, according to police.

While at the home on Anacapa Court, police located 24-year-old Bao Cao and arrested him without incident. During the search at Pedro Avenue, 19-year-old Thien Cao attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended, police said.
 
The search revealed more than 2,000 pot plants, grow lights, ventilation equipment and other growing accessories at the three homes, according to police.
 
About 220 pounds of cultivated marijuana, with a street value of about $2.2 million, and more than $15,000 in cash was located, police said.
 
The suspects were also stealing electricity from a PG&E meter, according to police. Both suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales, sales of marijuana, theft of utilities and conspiracy.
