Bank Robbery Suspect Photos Released

Photos released of a suspect believed responsible for multiple robberies–from a Milpitas credit union on May 14 and the same San Jose credit union in April and January.

Police have released photos of a man suspected of multiple bank robberies, including credit unions in Milpitas and in San Jose, in hopes that someone will recognize him.

The most recent robbery occurred at 1:40 p.m. on Saturday at , located at 1487 Landess Ave., according to police.

The previous robbery occurred at about 3:50 p.m. on April 29 at Meriwest Credit Union, located at 5683 Cottle Road, according to police. The suspect entered the bank, gave the teller a note and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

And there is at least one other robbery at the same credit union, Meriwest on Cottle Road, that occurred on Jan. 31, according to Detective Sgt. J. Fong of the SJPD.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid 30s to mid 40s and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He is balding, weighs around 200 pounds and has black facial hair and dark spots on both cheeks.

He was last seen wearing sunglasses and an orange long-sleeved shirt.

Anyone with information about the Milpitas robbery is asked to call Sgt. M. Nobida at 408-586-2400.

San Jose police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man and ask anyone with information about the San Jose robbery to contact Detective Sgt. J. Fong at 408-277-4167.
