Big Rig Collision Closes Lanes on I-880
Southbound I-880 between Thornton and Mowry exits.

One lane remains closed on southbound Interstate 880 because of a big rig collision, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic incident reports. At one point, four lanes were closed.
An estimated 15-20 gallons of diesel were being cleaned up by CalTrans as of 1:18 p.m., according to the CHP website.

All northbound lanes were open as of 12:40 p.m.
The incident occurred just before 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, and at least one other vehicle was involved, according to the CHP website. It is unknown whether injuries were reported but an ambulance was called to the scene.

A witness emailed and said the accident is on the center divider on the freeway between the exits of Thornton and Mowry avenues.
