Deputies Interrupt Saratoga Vehicle Burglaries, Arrest 2 Men

The Sheriff's Office detectives are currently working on identifying the owners of stolen property so it can be returned.

On January 16th 5:46 am, a deputy was patrolling the area of Kosich Drive and Obrad Drive in the City of Saratoga when he noticed a suspicious man hiding behind a vehicle. The deputy attempted to contact him and the man ran away. 

The Sheriff’s Office flooded the area with a dozen deputies and set up a perimeter. A K9 unit from Sunnyvale DPS responded to assist with locating the subject. While the deputies were canvassing the area, they located several other vehicles that had been burglarized in the area the subject was initially spotted.

After an extensive search, the deputies located Andrew Villarreal, a 32 year old man from San Jose. While deputies were interviewing Villarreal, they determined that he had an accomplice in the area. 

Deputies located Enrique Rodriguez, a 32-year old man from San Jose, sitting in Villarreal’s truck in a nearby parking lot waiting for Villarreal to return. Inside the truck, stolen property was located from several burglaries that had taken place in other neighboring cities. The Sheriff’s Office detectives are currently working on identifying the owners of stolen property so it can be returned.

Villarreal and Rodriguez were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of controlled substance, vandalism, possession of burglary tools, and probation violation. Villarreal is currently in custody on $33,000 bail and Rodriguez is currently in custody and has no bail.
