Latest Arrests by Milpitas Police
Recent information from the Milpitas Police Department on arrests and Saturday's DUI checkpoint.
Stolen Property (Monday)
• A resident on Summerwind Drive called 9-1-1 to report a suspicious vehicle on Monday morning around 8 a.m.
• Milpitas police intercepted the car on N. Milpitas Blvd. near Dixon Landing Road ten minutes later.
• Darrell Brewley, 28, a felon from Newcastle was found in possession of stolen property from a recent auto burglary in Dublin.

• Katherine Marrell, 23, a resident of Lincoln, had an outstanding warrant from Placer County.
• Both were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Strong Arm Robbery (Saturday)
• A victim had a gold necklace taken from his neck near the 900 block of S. Main St. It is a mostly residential block near the Great Mall.
• The incident occurred in broad daylight, around noon on Saturday.
• The victim was able to give police a description of the suspect, the vehicle (a red 1995 Pontiac Grand Am) and the license plate number.
• Two suspects later arrested by the Fremont police. Mario Williams, 20, is a homeless man believe to have taken the necklace. Oakland resident Icasiano Dudley Obana, 23, is believed to have been driving the car.
• They were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for robbery.
DUI Checkpoint (Saturday)
• As part of a drunk driving awareness campaign leading up to Labor Day weekend, Milpitas police conducted a checkpoint Saturday evening.
• The location was near the intersection of Great Mall Parkway and Abel Street.
• About 1,000 vehicles drove through the checkpoint and were screened for DUIs and drivers licenses.
• Milpitas police arrested four drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol and cited ten people for driving without a license (or with a suspended license).
