A 19-year-old woman who was holding a 3-month-old boy and 17-year-old girl were struck by a vehicle while walking across a major intersection.

A 19-year-old woman was killed and two others, a 17-year-old girl and a 3-month-old boy, were injured after being struck by a vehicle in a major Fremont intersection Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a report of an injury vehicle collision at Paseo Padre Parkway and Mowry Avenue around 9:55 p.m., police said.

The 19-year-old woman, who was holding a 3-month-old boy, and 17-year-old girl were walking west across Paseo Padre Parkway when they were struck by a vehicle south past Mowry Avenue, according to police.

The driver was a 64-year-old man who cooperated with officers, according to police.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor at this time, police said.

The 19-year-old woman was transported and succumbed to her injuries, police said.

The 3-month-old boy was also transported for life threatening injuries and the 17-year-old girl was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The intersection was reopened shortly before 4 a.m. and police are investigating the collision.

Anyone with information on the collision is asked to call the Fremont Police Department Traffic Unit at (510) 790-6760.
