Man Killed Outside Milpitas Executive Inn Hotel Is Identified

There are no suspects in the case and the investigation into the homicide is ongoing, according to authorities.

A young man who was shot dead outside a Milpitas hotel last week has been identified as 19-year-old San Jose resident Jesus Ulises Granados, police said today.

Police officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the Executive Inn Hotel at 95 Dempsey Road at about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 14, Lt. Sandy Holliday said.

Callers told emergency dispatchers that they heard four shots, and after officers arrived, many "hysterical people" were outside beside Granados as he lay on the ground, according to Holliday.

There are no suspects in the case and the investigation into the homicide is ongoing, Holliday said.

The homicide was the city's first of the year. There was only one homicide in Milpitas during all of 2013, police said.

Police urge anyone with information about the fatal shooting to notify the department at (408) 586-2400 or to leave an anonymous tip, call (408) 586-2500.
