Milpitas Donation Sites for Giants Fan and Paramedic

Milpitas residents, firefighters, local businesses to donate to a fund for Bryan Stow, a local paramedic in a coma from injuries he sustained on March 31.

An outpouring of support for has spread to Milpitas, where the county paramedic previously worked out of Fire Station 2.

While Stow remains in a coma, Milpitas firefighters have placed collection buckets in city buildings to assist Stow's family with unexpected costs.

Donations can be dropped off at City Hall, the community and sports centers and police and fire stations. They will be collected on April 22 by the firefighters' union, IAFF Local 1699. (See flier on right.)

Fire Chief Brian Sturdivant said Stow, who has worked for American Medical Response since 2002, is "well known and well liked by Milpitas firefighters." 

In addition, on the heels of a well-publicized fundraiser earlier this week by a pizza chain that generated $20,000, the  announced it will donate 100 percent of its proceeds on Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m.

“We are excited to help a man who has served our local community here for many years,” said Milpitas Pizza Guys owner Sabor Khan. The donations will be given to the Support Fund for Bryan Stow at SF Police Credit Union.

Stow's employer, American Medical Response, had a BBQ in San Jose on April 5. About 3,000-4,000 attendees turned out to buy food and autographed memorabilia donated by the San Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks. The fundraiser brought in $140,000.
