Milpitas Fire Dept. Attends Memorial in SF
Fire departments came far and wide on Friday to pay their respects to two San Francisco colleagues who died in the line of duty.
for the San Francisco firefighters who died from injuries resulting from battling a house fire, Lt. Vincent Perez, 48, and firefighter-paramedic Anthony Valerio, 53. Perez died on the day of the fire, June 2, and Valerio succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.
A vigil was held for the two men Thursday night at St. Mary's Cathedral, the site of the funeral Friday was held at 12:30 p.m. After the funeral, the men were buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
