Milpitas Police Arrest Parolee-at-Large

Parolee-at-large Michael Cota was arrested during a traffic stop.

A 42-year-old parolee-at-large suspected of planning to burglarize a Milpitas home was arrested recently during a traffic stop. 

Milpitas Police arrested Michael Cota, a transient who had an outstanding felony arrest warrant for being a parole-at-large, according to the Milpitas Police Department.

According to police, he was arrested March 27 after Milpitas Police spotted a suspicious vehicle at 387 N. Temple Drive while a sergeant was responding to a residential burglary. The Milpitas Police sergeant conducted an enforcement stop on the suspicious vehicle.

During the investigation, the sergeant determined that Cota and the driver, 30-year-old Nestor Agustin of Milpitas, were planning a residential burglary in a neighborhood in the northern end of Milpitas, according to Milpitas Police. 

The sergeant found that Cota had an outstanding felony arrest warrant. Cota and Agustin were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for various charges including being under the influence of a controlled substance. Michael Cota was also booked for the felony warrant.
