Last Thursday, Milpitas Police arrested a transient man at the Heritage Inn for auto theft and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
At 7:15 a.m., Milpitas police contacted Brian Borghette, 28, as he walked out of a room at the Heritage Inn, on 378 W Calaveras Blvd. They noted symptoms indicating he was under the influence of a controlled substance.
He didn’t have any identification with him, and provided a false name to detectives, according to Milpitas Police Sergeant Jared Hernandez.
Police used a mobile fingerprint device in order to confirm his true identity. Borghette was found to be on probation with several warrants for his arrest.
Detectives noticed a motorcycle parked outside of the hotel room, and discovered that it had been reported stolen in San Jose.
They also located a 2003 Ford Explorer associated to Borghette in the parking lot which was determined to have been stolen in San Mateo.
Borghette was arrested and booked for auto theft with priors, providing false information to a police officer, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation with multiple arrest warrants.
