Milpitas Police Arrest Two Men for Burglary, Prowling in Vacant Lot

The two men, San Jose transients, were located by police in the 1600 block of McCandless Drive.

On Sunday, Milpitas Police arrested one man for prowling and another for commercial burglary and a warrant, they said Monday.

At 12:56 p.m., a Milpitas police officer was patrolling the 1600 block of McCandless Drive and noticed someone walking in the vicinity of a vacant business.

The officer confronted Gregory Matthew Mackin, 48, a San Jose transient, as he walked around the a parking lot adjacent to the vacant commercial buildings, according to Milpitas Police Sergeant Abbie Serrano.

Officers quickly arrived on the scene and began setting up a perimeter around the building.

Police also apprehended Lawrence Rabello, 53, also a San Jose transient, as he exited the south side of the commercial building.

Rabello was arrested for commercial burglary and an outstanding warrant, while Mackin was arrested for prowling. Both men were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
