Milpitas Police To Attend Memorial Service For Fallen Santa Cruz Police Officers

The memorial service will begin at noon Thursday in San Jose.

A number of Milpitas Police officers will be attending a memorial Thursday for two fallen Santa Cruz Police officers, although the exact number is not yet known, police said Wednesday afternoon.

There are a total of 6,000 Bay Area police officers – along with thousands of local citizens – expected to attend the service in San Jose. It will begin with a motorcade procession down Highway 17 at 8:45 a.m.

The memorial service for fallen Santa Cruz Police Sgt. Loran "Butch" Baker and Detective Elizabeth Butler is set for noon at HP Pavilion. The arena holds up to 17,000 people.

Tell us in the comments: Will you also be attending the memorial service?
