Officer Who Helped Prevent Kidnapping Named Officer of the Year

Milpitas Police Officer Kenneth Hansen was named Officer of the Year at a special luncheon on Oct. 26.

Milpitas Police Officer Kenneth Hansen received the distinguished Chief's Special Agents Association (CSAA) Officer of the Year award on Oct. 26 at a special luncheon in Oakland.

Officer Hansen has served with the Milpitas Police Department for more than 16 years. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for six years.

One of Officer Hansen's most high-profile successes was when he arrested a suspect who attempted to kidnap a female student from Milpitas High School, and entice two others into his van. Though the suspect fled, Officer Hansen fought with him and was able to take him into custody.
